This Tax Manager role focuses on advisory and planning work for a range of clients, including owner-managed businesses and international cross-border matters. The position involves technical tax work across multiple entity types, research and problem-solving, and supervision of staff. You will work under partner direction while taking a lead role in client engagements and internal practice development.
What you will be doing
- Review income tax returns for individuals, corporations, and trusts
- Lead tax planning engagements for owner-managed domestic clients
- Provide inbound advisory services on international cross-border tax matters
- Conduct technical research for client needs and internal use, and draft correspondence to tax authorities
- Manage processes and procedures during tax season
- Analyze new tax legislation and prepare professional development seminars
- Supervise, coach, and mentor tax staff and assign work
What the role requires
- Minimum four years of public accounting tax experience, including at least one year at the manager level
- Completion of the In-Depth Tax Program
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and working files systems
- Experience serving owner-managed clients
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and authority correspondence
