A Senior Accountant role focused on managing audit engagements and assurance services for a diverse client base including corporations, small and medium businesses, local government, agriculture, manufacturing, hospitality, and not-for-profit organizations. The position involves leading audit teams, preparing financial statements and tax filings, and mentoring junior staff while working autonomously on complex accounting and auditing matters.

What you will be doing

  • Manage audit teams and client engagements from planning through fieldwork execution and reporting
  • Plan fieldwork budgets and allocate resources for audit assignments
  • Prepare notice to readers, assurance engagements, personal and corporate tax returns, HST returns, T4s, T5s, and T3s
  • Mentor and provide training to junior team members
  • Communicate audit findings and financial performance insights to client management
  • Use accounting software including word processing, spreadsheet, audit, and tax preparation applications
  • Develop client relationships and contribute to business development activities

What the role requires

  • CPA designation with 1 to 5 years of post-designation experience
  • Ability to assess and comprehend diverse business operations across multiple sectors
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for client and team interaction
