This is a dual-function role managing a portfolio of owner-managed business clients while supervising and developing accounting staff. The position involves overseeing compilation and review engagements, reviewing corporate and personal tax returns, providing tax advisory services, and maintaining quality standards across client files.
What you will be doing
- Manage a portfolio of owner-managed business clients
- Review compilation and review engagements prepared by staff
- Review personal, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns
- Provide year-end accounting and tax advisory services to clients
- Supervise, mentor, and develop junior through senior staff members
- Assist clients with tax authority matters and compliance issues
- Identify process improvements and opportunities to implement technology solutions
What the role requires
- 7+ years of progressive public accounting experience
- Strong experience with compilation and review engagements
- Experience reviewing personal, corporate, and partnership tax returns
- Proven leadership and staff mentoring experience
- Ability to independently manage client files from planning through completion
